Welcome to my "London & Country", Greenway 359 website

This website was established to support existing bus & coach preservationists & also encourage a fresh & younger group of enthusiasts, to take part in saving buses of any era.

My single deck bus, was originally supplied as a Leyland National, new to Ribble Motor Services of Preston, in October 1976, as UHG 736R.

After 18 years, in 1994, she was purchased by London Country South West, for their "London & Country" services to undergo the East Lancs Greenway conversion. This involved replacing the Leyland 510 engine, with a remanufactured Gardner 6HLXB & being given a new look East Lancs body, making her unrecognisable as a National.

Gaining her "London & Country" livery, in May 1994 & a fleet number of "359", she was allocated to Addlestone (WY) garage.

It is in her "London & Country" livery, as the only time her UHG 736R registration was matched to the Greenway body, that she is preserved.

This is her story, past & present. I hope you enjoy reading it.
